Managing Editor, Sarah Freeman, writes: “Hello, and welcome to this digital edition of Business & Finance

Summertime brought Dublin Tech Summit (DTS) to the RDS, attracting tech innovators, investors and experts from all over the world. Topics covered included cyber security, the Metaverse, scaling start-ups and much more. In this issue, we bring you highlights from the two-day summit with a multitude of insights and thought-provoking ideas.

We were inspired by the speakers at DTS to explore the issue of Tech for Good. In this issue, we speak to a number of influencers in the tech world about how their companies are utilising tech for constructive, positive purposes. You’ll read interviews with Zaria Parvez from Duolingo, Jason Van der Merwe from Strava, Nikki Lasley from Amplitude, Aisling Curtis from Microsoft and Sarah Jane O’Dwyer from HaloCare.

2022 saw the Business & Finance Awards return to a live, in-person event at the Convention Centre, Dublin. We bring you coverage of the event and all the winners of the prestigious awards.

We feature the Ireland INC US 250 Index with contributions from An Tanaiste, Leo Varadkar; Sean Davis, Enterprise Ireland; Danny McCoy, CEO Ibec; Michael E. Burke, Arnall Golden Gregory, LLP and Bernard Condon, Ornua. You can read about the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of Ireland Day at the New York Stock Exchange and a leadership breakfast chaired by Ian Hyland, Founder & President, Ireland INC and Congressman Richard Neal, Chair of the US House Ways and Means Committee.

This digital issue will offer narratives of innovation, growth and positivity for the months ahead. We focus on the increasingly topical issues of the environment, the Metaverse, unicorns and smart cities. Also featured in this issue is the Chief Information Officers Index 2022, in association with Equinix.”
